The foundations for his career in this ancient craft were laid at the Irish School of Blacksmithing, where he qualified with distinction. Under the guidance of master blacksmiths in the UK and Ireland, John honed his craft delivering on a high scale and high-end projects.
With a determination to bring the highest quality ironwork to the local community and beyond, John decided to set up his own business, bringing together years of training and knowledge gathering. Building up a large client base, John has since created specially tailored functional ironwork including gates and staircases as well as his own unique masterpieces. His creative and imaginative designs bridging the gap between art and utility.
Passing on the tradition of mentorship that he was fortunate to receive in his early working life, John continues to share his skill with young apprentices eager to learn the trade. He was also invited to speak at the Irish Artists Blacksmiths Association (IABA) about his experience working in the field.
John has showcased his work at many exhibitions including the Crux Exhibition in Ireland and was one of six metal artists from around Europe to be invited to the Czech Republic for a week to create a piece of sculpture. With commissions flooding in from all over the country and overseas, John is delivering on his ambition to create timeless works of art for clients to enjoy for years to come.
